About Us
Twenty-five years ago, Doug looked out over this land and saw something most people would have missed — not just a lake, but a place where people could gather, celebrate,
and feel completely at home.
That vision became Labyrinth Lake.
What started as a dream has grown into one of Alberta's most beloved outdoor wedding and special events venues. A place where couples say their vows at the water's edge, families reunite under open skies, and every kind of celebration finds its perfect setting — from intimate elopements to music festivals, baby showers to corporate retreats.
For 25 years, guests have been arriving down our km drive through rolling fields and forest,
seeing the lake come into view, and saying the same thing: "What a beautiful property."
We don't take that lightly.

Meet Doug
Doug isn't just the owner of Labyrinth Lake — he's its keeper.
For 25 years he has poured his heart into this land, expanding the facilities, tending the grounds, and personally welcoming every couple who has arrived for a tour - while pouring them a glass of freshly made iced-tea.
When you book at Labyrinth Lake, you're not dealing with a faceless venue — you're working with someone who genuinely cares that your day goes exactly as you hoped.
Guests describe him as "an absolute gem" and anyone who has met Doug would tell you that's exactly right.
Meet Nicole
Nicole's connection to Labyrinth Lake goes back further than her role here.
Over a decade ago she was a guest — drawn in by the community events, the land, and the unmistakable feeling you get being out here, secluded in nature. She loved it so much she eventually co-hosted her own music festival right here on these grounds.
So when Nicole says she understands what it means to celebrate at Labyrinth Lake — she really means it.
With a background in corporate event planning and marketing, plus a genuine passion for this property, Nicole brings both the experience and the personal touch to make sure every detail of your celebration is taken care of. From your first enquiry to your last dance, she's here to make the process feel easy.

Our Values
Labyrinth Lake has always been more than a venue.
From the very beginning, this has been a safe and welcoming space for everyone — regardless of faith, background, or who you love. We are a proud and longstanding supporter of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, and we believe that love in all its forms deserves to be celebrated.
We also believe in caring for the land and animals that makes this place so special. The 160 acres that surround you are home to an abundance of wildlife, birds, and nature — and we ask that all guests treat it with the same respect we do.
Well behaved four-legged friends are always welcome too, when accompanied by their owners. 🐾
